Today as I met with a client, talking about holistic business and growth and possibility, an email came in about a holistic chamber of commerce right here in Oakland County.
Supposedly, the universe speaks to us through technology. Let go of a problem or say it out loud and watch the text messages come in. Ding! Ding! Ding!
I’m not kidding.
It has happened a lot lately. When I felt discouraged about selling my home (it’s done! we accepted an offer yesterday!), I said, “I’ll just let it go and whatever will happen will take over.” Immediately, emails poured in and phone calls and text messages, all from people wanting to see the house and make offers.
I say I want to work with more food clients and BANG! – signed a chef, a juice company and a local eatery is coming back in January. More writing? Clients ask for blogs and specialty articles and e-blasts.
Ask and ye shall receive.
The thing is, there’s a belief part to all this. If you don’t believe anything is beyond your control, you’ll have a hard time seeing the results.
I know I’m not in charge. I try, believe me, with my Type-A personality to wrest control a lot. But then I remember that it’s not all about me, that I just have to do my part and the rest will fall into place.
Let go and see what happens.
Surrendering is a beautiful thing. Freeing, in fact. The minute you admit that there’s something so much bigger than you, you can unload the burden of having to do it all yourself.
Doesn’t that sound great?
It’s 3 o’clock on a Tuesday afternoon and I have a list of 9 things in front of me that are urgent. Not to mention all the other client work I must catch up on.
It’s ok. It’s all good. Whatever needs to get done will get done. And in the meantime, I’ll enjoy the brilliance of the sun shining off the corner window, huddle into my coat because it’s so damn cold in here, and realize that life is an incredible gift.
It’s all good. I’ve got a lifetime to get it all done. Let’s breathe for a minute and enjoy the miracle of just being here.
