What a Success! DIY PR conference rocked the house.

Saturday afternoon, content still going: “This is the best event I’ve ever attended – and I attend a lot of events!” D.K.

Email last night: “I took pages and pages of notes at this weekend’s conference. My head is spinning with all the information I took in, and I’m looking forward to sitting down and spending some more time further crafting and defining our message.” J.C.

2013-10-25 21.27.06The room was full, of energy, of smiling people, of open eyes and open ears, of relationships forming and relationships deepening and knowledge building and business growing.

All year, I worked on planning this weekend’s conference and I must say, it was a smashing success. Every single person, participant or presenter, had fun, gained some new information and made at least one new contact. Exactly what I had hoped for!

It feels really good to see dreams come true. For years, I’ve believed that everyone needs PR but not everyone should have to pay a fortune for it. And so I planned this event to guide people toward doing some of their own messaging and outreach, while holding the hand of a cherished consultant (maybe me, maybe one of my colleagues who helped to put on this event) and seeing success spin before their eyes.2013-10-25 21.30.50

2013-10-26 01.24.31Great people filled that room. Exactly the people who needed to be there.

It’s funny how we set goals and create a vision but that we forget how it’s all going to come out the way it is supposed to be. The people who should be there, will be there. The number was perfect. The timing was great. Synergy, synergy, synergy.

So now what?

Well, there’s a Power Table on Nov. 5th. There will be a bunch more people I can now work with in innovative and unique ways.

And there is the satisfaction of a job well done, helping people, bringing together the right topics at the right time in the right room with the right people.

But there will be more. This is the beginning of a whole new trajectory of educating people on the art and skill of public relations. Stay tuned for what’s next. It’s going to be great.
